Boston, MA – The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) is excited to welcome NACDS-member retailers and suppliers to the fast-approaching 2022 NACDS Total Store Expo — a one-of-a-kind event that brings together the total store to explore new and innovative ways to serve the total person.
This year’s event — to be held August 27-29 in Boston — will feature extensive opportunities for small, mid-sized and large companies to collaborate, connect and advance plans to stay agile in the constantly evolving marketplace.
Meet the Market, a highly popular aspect of the conference schedule, will offer an exclusive opportunity for NACDS suppliers and chains to connect and learn more about the latest and greatest innovative products, technologies and services through a series of 10-minutes appointments arranged by NACDS. The conversations that start here have the potential to lead to distributions across more than 300 leading domestic and international omni-channel-retailers.
The Sunday Business Program will feature NACDS Chair Brian Nightengale, president, Good Neighbor Pharmacy and NACDS President and CEO Steven C. Anderson. In addition, attendees will hear about the critical issues shaping the economy, the industry and the nation today from former U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Lawrence H. Summers – who will keynote this year’s event.
The NACDS Total Store Expo will also feature a vibrant educational component that includes topics of relevance to the pharmacy, to consumer goods, and to the entire supply chain. Sessions held on Saturday afternoon and Monday morning will highlight timely and relevant topics to industry. These topics will include: how to lead with authenticity; strategies to build a resilient supply chain; pharmaceutical trends, issues and forecasts; the evolving retail landscape and shoppers’ new expectations for brands and retailers; innovations in healthcare delivery; and pharmacies’ role in improving mental and behavioral health.
Additionally, NACDS members will hear the latest on pressing public policy issues on which the Association is highly engaged, including the bipartisan Equitable Community Access to Pharmacist Services Act (HR 7213) — legislation that would help ensure the continuity of accessible pharmacy-based care during public health emergencies and every day. The Future of Pharmacy Coalition, of which NACDS serves on the Executive Committee, continues to aggressively advocate and build support for the bill.
NACDS leadership will also discuss issues related to fair reimbursement for pharmacies — which are vital for patient access and pharmacy viability alike.
This year, special programming including the NACDS Institute program will feature discussion by NACDS leadership, federal policy and innovation experts, and industry authorities on major opportunities to advance nutrition, health, and equity. NACDS’ and members’ engagement in these initiatives act as an ideal nexus with the NACDS 2023 initiative – through which the Association is looking ahead to new ways to advance health and wellness and to serve the NACDS membership with a focus on innovation in the pharmacy, throughout the total store, and beyond.
