NACDS President and CEO Steven C. Anderson is asking California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) to exert his leadership by signing into law SB 966 – California legislation that would address some of the tactics of pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) middlemen that are harming Californians and their pharmacies and communities.
With decisive action, NACDS says Gov. Newsom has the potential to further build momentum for sorely needed reforms across the nation.
Meanwhile, NACDS emphasizes the importance of a true all-levels and all-branches of government approach to PBM reform, with the federal and state governments performing their appropriate roles. NACDS urges federal and state action to help reduce Americans’ prescription drug costs, to protect Americans’ access to their trusted and convenient pharmacies and to medications prescribed by their doctors, and to end predatory practices that force pharmacies to close their doors.
