Arlington, VA – The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) continues to tell pharmacy’s story as the true “face of neighborhood healthcare” – and to illustrate the industry’s profound and collaborative work to serve the American public, in times of emergency and every day.
As part of NACDS’ sustained “Pharmacies. The face of neighborhood healthcare.” campaign – an ongoing effort to demonstrate pharmacies’ continued, vital role in healthcare delivery – NACDS took to radio to share the unique value of pharmacy.
From July 11 to August 5, a 60-second audio news release aired in 15 markets: Annapolis, MD; Boston, MA; Cincinnati, OH; Los Angeles, CA; Minneapolis, MN; Tallahassee, FL; Cheyenne, WY; Austin, TX; Wenatchee, WA; Santa Fe, NM; Evansville, IN; Albany, NY; Bowling Green, KY; Lansing, MI and Springfield, IL. Plans are underway to extend the radio aspect of the campaign.
The radio spot featured remarks by NACDS President and CEO Steven C. Anderson – and underscored pharmacies’ proven value when it comes to providing consumer-empowered, total health and wellness solutions, as well as the critical need to maintain Americans’ access to pharmacist-provided services beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.
Anderson said:
“With all the uncertainty of COVID, pharmacy teams have anchored much of the nation’s response. There’s a pharmacy within five miles of 90 percent of Americans. That reach is not replaceable – for urban and rural areas alike. We need to prevent a rollback of government policies that have enhanced patients’ access to pharmacies during the pandemic – because Americans rely on this access, and they expect it.”
NACDS’ radio campaign follows the release in late June of a series of digital content showcasing the broad and powerful impact of “Pharmacies. The face of neighborhood healthcare.” – before, during and beyond the pandemic:
