The NACDS family is honoring the brilliance and generosity of Joseph Pedott (1932-2023), a long-time supporter of the Association.
Joe is being remembered as someone who believed in loyalty, hard work, education, and results. He believed in helping those who faced similar life challenges to those he faced as a youth. As a successful businessman and entrepreneur – most famous as the marketing genius behind the Chia Pet and the Clapper – he believed in “paying it forward.”
Joseph established foundations in California and Illinois that support students who need access, services and means to obtain a college degree. Joe donated funds to help build and complete two Hillels that provide support, services, and a “home away from home” for Jewish college students. He was in the process of expanding to a third.
