On Tuesday, at the invitation of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra, NACDS and NACDS member representatives including Rite Aid, Walgreens and Walmart engaged in a discussion at the White House on the implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) — and “how pharmacies can work together to build on the progress made under President Biden’s [IRA] to further bring down the cost of prescription drugs and educate consumers about the benefits of the law.”
Through the engagement of the membership, NACDS brought its pro-patient and pro-pharmacy perspective to the IRA during its Congressional consideration and continues to shape the IRA during its implementation.
