NACDS is joining with the Community Pharmacy Association of New York State (CPANYS) in hailing the one-month anniversary of the April 1, 2023, implementation of the NYRx New York Medicaid pharmacy benefit.
NACDS is promoting the following CPANYS statement on the one-month anniversary of the transition:
“By taking the middleman out of the Medicaid pharmacy program, Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York legislature enabled state funding to go to actual patient care and services. This transition has led to expanded patient access to pharmacy care for patients, including patient choice of pharmacy and broader access to the medicines patients need. The program is working very well following a smooth transition on April 1st and every day the nearly eight million New Yorkers in the Medicaid program are reaping the benefits of NYRx.” – Mike Duteau, president of the Community Pharmacy Association of New York State
