FAQ
NACDS RxIMPACT Day on Capitol Hill Event
ATTIRE?
March 13, 2024: Business casual to attend the Pioneer Celebration Reception & Welcome Dinner.
March 14, 2024: With pharmacy white coat, business attire and comfortable walking shoes.
CANCELLATION?
If at any point before the event you need to cancel your attendance, please email Hecker@nacds.org. NACDS will be working hard to schedule congressional meetings on your behalf, and it looks bad with a congressional office if you do not show up for the meeting (without us being able to notify the appropriate offices on your behalf).
CAPITOL HILL NAVIGATION?
This event is set up in a way to help first-timers feel very comfortable about this exciting experience! Each team’s “Team Leader” has been to Capitol Hill before and can guide the team to each meeting. Access our Capitol Hill Map to see important building locations.
CAPITOL HILL SECURITY?
Visitors to the U.S. Capitol are screened by a magnetometer, and all items that are permitted inside the building are screened by an x-ray device. Visitors should keep their belongings with them at all times as unattended items may result in a disruption of service at the Capitol. Learn about prohibited items.
HEALTH/SAFETY?
NACDS’ priority is to conduct this event in accordance with official government, local authorities, and venue specific regulations and recommendations; as well as what NACDS deems is appropriate. NACDS reserves the right to change, update, or add to these guidelines at any time as it deems prudent to best protect the health and safety of our attendees, colleagues and industry partners.
HILL MEETINGS?
The NACDS RxIMPACT process to set up congressional meetings is thoughtful and complicated orchestrating one meeting per congressional office (and includes others on your team). When registering for the event, attendees recognize that NACDS makes all congressional appointments.
SCHEDULE RESTRICTIONS?
We understand everyone has a busy schedule, even around the important NACDS RxIMPACT Day on Capitol Hill event. When registering, please note any special scheduling notes (for example, I have to leave by 3:30pm to go to the airport). This information will better enable us to say schedule the congressional meeting for the Rep. where you live at 10am versus 4pm when you cannot make it). Email Hecker@nacds.org to share after-registration scheduling needs.
SUBSTITUTION?
A colleague is not simply added in your place. Each attendee is zip-matched to identify home and/or work addresses and this information guides who is placed on what team. These details are used to confirm congressional meetings and becomes complicated with participant changes.
TEAM LEADER?
Upon registration, advocates submit their interest in serving as a “Team Leader.” Teams are groups of 4-5 advocates, with one as the “Team Leader.” The role of the team leader is to serve as key point of coordination for materials, team organizing, and receiving day-of appointment updates. Team leaders help guide teams to each appointment.
TEAM MEET UP?
A team e-mail introduction will be sent at least one month before the event and teams can elect to connect any time before or during the meeting. NACDS has arranged for you to meet your team at the March 14th Breakfast Briefing (assigned seating). See the back of your nametag to find your seat and team location.
